I brewed a special Harvest Ale, with 100% of the  hops coming from my garden here in Dunedin, picked yesterday afternoon.  This lot here was one of three hop additions added throughout the  brew... The aroma was amazing both during the brew and when we were  picking the hops yesterday. So zingy! This old-school traditional style employs a unique  'sour mash' technique in the brewhouse, making it drier and crisper  than your standard wheat beer, with a slight citrus-like zing. In its  hey day of the 1800s this beer style was brewed by over 700 breweries in  Berlin alone, seen as the number one way to stay quenched on a summers  day. <br /><br />Traditionally served with a dash of raspberry juice, our raspberry  infused version is now on tap at The Bund and Ombrellos, and the 'standard' release on  the rigger station at Dunedin Malt House. Must be about  time for a refreshing drop - head on down to Ombrellos Kitchen and Bar to taste some of our current seasonal release, a Belgian  Style Farmhouse Saison. Crisp and refreshing but still with that lovely  belgian charachter from the specialised Saison yeast strain.
